Wasting time before bed, I found this article, which is full of none-too-kind words for Mr. Amis and Mr. The Hitch. Something about the way the article is written, something akin to name dropping, gives the impression that Britain has a serious literary culture; or maybe it was just written for those who run in Britain's novelist-hipster circles.
