Gen. Wesley K. Clark, the supreme allied commander of NATO during the Kosovo campaign, will join the crowded race for the Democratic presidential nomination on Wednesday, people who have been briefed on his plans said today.

Great. I'm eager to see the General come under more direct and intense scrutiny. I think he can meet the challenge. Man, I hope, and am almost willing to bet, that the Dem. race comes down to Clark and Dean, with maybe one of the entrenched Congressmen clocking in a distant but not invisible third. Best case scenario given my prediction: 2nd place finisher just becomes the V.P.
