At long last

Hawaii pictures, as I promised. The post will come tomorrow, hopefully. After 18 hours of sitting on my ass freelancin' this weekend, my body threatened insurgency unless I heeded its call to go play basketball first chance I got. Besides, you people only tolerate what I write until I deliver the visual goods.

Ah, I remember it as if it were a month ago...

An emblematic shot of the North Shore as the islanders experience it: a camp ground. If you look closely, near where those folks are sitting on the beach, you can see where my last cell phone met its untimely demise. R.I.P. LG.

Makapu Beach (I think that's how you spell it), where we went body surfing. This one is on the east side of Oahu. Most of the beaches where people go to take a dip are small like this one, usually no more than a couple hundred yards.

The view from my cousin's deck.

This is just a pretty cool picture of my cousin:

I told you there were flowers everywhere out there. This is probably my favorite of the various ones I photographed.

Here's the little (for Hawaii) waterfall we hiked to one day.

Click here for a closer view of the source. The picture's on the large side, but it's worth clicking through. (Amy, re: our discussion on cameras, this is at 5x optical.)

And I'll wrap up with my favorite picture of the trip, from the North Shore campout, just after the sun set.

I was amazed at how this photo jumped to life in Photoshop, God bless it.

Here's a link to the Hawaii directory, where there are a few other pictures, including some more nice flower pics, and where I'll be adding more pics as I get around to it.

Aloha and mahalo.
