Scary shit
Kriston just sent me a link to an article in Women's Wall Street magazine called "Terror in the skies again?" I'm sure the blogosphere is all over this, unless its still too busy discussing F9/11 or the Hollywood Hatefest, but in case you haven't seen it, go read. The author, Annie Jacobsen, saw what could have been a failed terrorist plot or what could have been her own paranoia getting the best of her. Who knows, but she says, "What I experienced during that flight has caused me to question whether the United States of America can realistically uphold the civil liberties of every individual, even non-citizens, and protect its citizens from terrorist threats."
The story is disturbing, as are its revelations about the lack of common sense in our anti-discrimination laws.
What amazes me about this woman's story, if true, is that it could take place in the same country that has seen innocent Muslims shipped off for "coercion" in countries without that pesky Bill of Rights.
Bah, I need a beer.
