Two things
Last week I discovered two things that I wanted to pass along.
1. Renters insurance is very cheap. I got $23,000 worth of coverage, with a 10 percent deductible, for $114 a year. That covers fire, water, mold, theft — including property, like a laptop, stolen out of my car — and all that other bad stuff. I went through Allstate, because my landlord handed me their pamphlet. It took about five minutes for them to set up the policy over the phone and another 15 at their office to sign the paperwork. Seems worth looking into, now that some of my friends actually have furniture, electronics, etc. worth insuring.
2. If you need to buy new sheets any time soon, one word: modal. It's some weird fabric made from beechwood fibers. I don't know how that works, but I do know that it is so comfortable that I'm taking the time to write about it. My brother and I discovered it when we bought Clare's bed from her, and she gave Grady a set of the magic sheets. How she slept on this secret for so long and never told the rest of us is beyond me. Soft, smooth, warm but not stuffy, and relatively cheap, too. They have sets in various colors and sizes at Bed, Bath & Beyond for about $30-40.
