Can't we at least agree on this?

Can't we, as a nation, at least come down against torture? Do we really want to promote an enabler for one of the most devastating and embarassing scandals in our history, one which completely undermined the supposedly life-or-death War on Terror? Is that the message of outreach we want to extend to nations we're trying pacify, reform, and bring into our alliance? Really?
