Mr. Wright goes to Austin
I covered some stuff at the state capitol this morning. Took the opportunity to take some photographs, of course. I had a light-hearted day following around a few future teachers from UMHB as they got their first glimpse of constituent lobbying. Then I had lunch with my friend Lomi, who covers the lege.
On the whole I was unprepared when I walked into the Telegram office that afternoon to find out about a horrible murder in town late Saturday night. An eighth-grade girl was killed and her body found in a burning dumpster. Police arrested a 17-year-old in connection with her death. She went to the same middle school as another Temple boy who died naturally in his sleep for no apparent reason last week.
When I got home I played with my photos and watched basketball as always and felt callous.
