Nothing
Since I moved to Austin I have been largely uninterested in much of anything online, with the exception of news about Katrina and a grisly murder in West Campus last month.
I have nothing much to say. I've just been too busy getting settled and figuring out how I'll make a living and catching up with old friends to care about this blog.
For what it's worth, I found on my computer a bunch of pics from the Mardi Gras trip we made in 2004 that I had never edited and uploaded. The set is here. Most of them are from the parade we went to, which, as I reported back then, was the probably the best part of the trip:
And while it was good fun to be among the sweltering masses of Bourbon Street, and while N.O.'s Mardi Gras is, amazingly, much less creepy than Austin's, the most ineresting fact of the weekend was that the parades were easily as enjoyable as the debauchery. The main appeal was people on floats tossing beads at you, and cheering for them, cajoling for them, and collecting them was a blast. More gratification for less hassle.I guess I put them up in hopes of what might return.
