A day late, a foot short
Dadgum, the Austin Toros, our National Basketball Developmental League team, is having open tryouts for area athletes tomorrow. But I've got a photoshoot to do all day, and I don't have the $125 entry fee.
Man, if only I'd known about this opportunity last summer and started training back then. I could've made it, I tell ya. They wouldn't have known what to do with me and my Ginobili-meets-Beno game. Well, they would have known to cut a 5'8" white kid just by looking at me, but, that's another story for another time.
In other news, the Hancock Ballerz are also holding free tryouts this Sunday, at the court near the golf course, or as we call it: McKenna-Pillifant-Doan Memorial Stadium. Show up sometime after the Cowboys game. Should be fun.
