Went to San Antonio last weekend. Found huge, incredible book on Edward Steichen. Been reading intently. Spent most of my free time working photos, concentrating on shadow detail and purposely trying to make my images look differen than contemporary commercial/professional photography.

But this shot, devoid of context, has got a bit of the surreal to it, something not so common in Steichen, but perhaps absorbed from that other old friend of ours, Andre Kertesz.
