Shutter-buggin'
Has it been two weeks already? Between the jobby-jobs, the NBA Finals, World Cup, Father's Day, some freelance writing I picked up, and grabbing dinner with friends a little too often, I just now, tonight, sat down and got all my Europe photos in one place.
Le totale grande: 1,624 pictures, filling 4.1 gigabytes; 4 movies; and 19 audio clips. And I thought I was holding back. What on earth one person needs with that many photos is beyond me. Examining the file numbers, I see that I actually burned through 2,000 shutter clicks, meaning I deleted over 400 pictures that were blurry, out of focurs, or otherwise worthless. This was a 16-day trip, mind you. So I was, on overage, deleting 25 pictures — or what we used to consider a roll of film — each day. In fact, come to think of it, if I was still working under film's yolk, I would've burned through about 60 rolls of 36-exposure film. At a low estimate of $3 per roll and $4 apiece to develop, I would've spent more then $400 on pictures alone. God bless digital.
Oh, and I forgot about the 50 or so exposures I took with my Holga, which I need to get developed. Sheesh.
Anyways, I'll start sifting through them all this weekend. I have no plan on how to tackle all this. Maybe now that I've got a chance to relax a bit, I'll also write something about the trip. But for now, it's Friday night, and Live Oak's calling.
